Elon Musk announced the temporary suspension of the relaunch of the ‘Blue Verified’ badge verification on Twitter “until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation”.

Musk, who took over Twitter last month had introduced the $8 blue tick verification plan for the Twitter. However, this action has resulted in the mushrooming of a lot of fake accounts forcing the Twitter Chief to halt it.

Musk had defended the much-criticised paid verification plan by saying that the blue checkmark will be the “great leveler”.
“Widespread verification will democratize journalism & empower the voice of the people,” he tweeted.
The social media platform has been marred with layoffs and mass exits since Musk took over. He has been since then experimenting changes in various past policies.
