The mutual trust and determination among the Quad member countries is giving new energy to democratic forces and is encouraging a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday while delivering his opening remarks during the second in-person Quad summit in Tokyo.
Quad is the four-nation coalition comprising Australia, India, United States and Japan.
“Quad is pursuing a constructive agenda for the Indo-Pacific region. With this, the image of Quad as a ‘force for good’ will be strengthened even more,” Prime Minister Modi said.

Excellencies ............ Thank you PM Kishida for your wonderful hospitality. I am very pleased to be among friend's in Tokyo First of all, I congratulate PM Anthony Albanese & extend my heartfelt wishes for winning the elections. Your presence amongst us 24 hrs after taking the oath reflects the strength of Quad friendship and your commitment towards it. The Quad group has made an important place for itself on the global stage in a very short time. Today the scope of Quad has increased and also it is more influential. Quad's scope has become extensive, its form effective. Our mutual trust, and our determination is giving new energy & enthusiasm to democratic powers. At the Quad level, Our Mutual cooperation is encouraging free open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region which is a shared objective for all of us. Despite the difficult situation of Covid q9, we have increased mutual coordination in several areas like vaccine delivery, climate action,supply chain resilience, disaster management and economic cooperation. This is ensuring peace, prosperity and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. The Quad is moving forward with the constructive agenda for the Indo-pacific region which will continue to strengthen the image of Quad as the force for good.
