Delhi Govt on Tuesday announces weekend curfew in the National Capital in view of the rising Covid 19 cases. Delhi on Monday reported 4,099 fresh Covid-19 cases, up from 3,194 on the preceding day, which is a rise of 28% in 24 hours. The case positivity rate surged to 6.46% from Sunday’s 4.59%.
The week end curfew will begin from Friday 10 pm to Monday 5 am.
Addressing a press conference after the Delhi Disaster management Covid meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said curbs are announced to contain the spread and asks people to wear masks.
“DDMA has decided to impose a curfew in Delhi on Saturdays and Sundays to curb COVID surge. All govt officials except for those engaged in essential services will work from home. 50% workforce of private offices will work from home,” the Delhi Deputy CM announces.
“Buses and metros will be allowed to function in full capacity but no one will be allowed without a mask,” he added.
