PM Modi’s Action Packed Week In US: Back-To-Back Meetings, Quad, Bilaterals And UNGA

A high-packed week of diplomacy will begin in the United States as the world leaders will participate in the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, where discussions will be held on expanding access to Covid-19 vaccines and confronting the rising dangers of climate change.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting the United States, where he will be following a marathon schedule and will hold a series of back-to-back high-level meetings.

According to the sources, PM Modi will be arriving in Washington DC on September 22, and on the same day, he will attend President’s Biden’s virtual Covid Summit, which will focus on challenges related to covid management and vaccine distribution globally.

On September 23, reportedly, Prime Minister Modi will be meeting with the top US CEOs. followed by one-on-one meetings with United States Vice President Kamala Harris and Apple CEO Tim Cook.

As of now, there is no official announcement of the meeting.

PM will also meet Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Japanese counterpart Yoshihide Suga on the same day.

On September 24, Prime Minister Modi held a bilateral meet with President Joe Biden and will later participate in the first in-person Quad summit along with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga.

Dinner is also organized during PM Modi’s visit. Interestingly UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s visit is also coinciding with PM Modi’s visit to Washington, there is also a likelihood of them meeting too.

On September 24 evening, PM Modi will be proceeding to New York where next day he will deliver a speech at United Nations General Assembly.
