Brief Face-Off Between Indian, Chinese Troops In Tawang

Indian and Chinese troops were engaged in a brief face-off near Yangtse in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh last week. According to the reports, the issue was resolved through talks between local commanders of the two sides.

The reports which were carried by major news outlets in India, say that face-off took place after a Chinese patrol tried to enter Indian territory but were forced back by the Indian soldiers.

According to sources quoted by the PTI, such transgressions take place because of differing perceptions about the Line of Actual Control by both sides.

The incident came to light days before another round of high-level military talks between the two sides on the eastern Ladakh row, which is scheduled to take place on October 12.

India government has not issued any official statement yet over the incident.

Earlier On August 30, close to 100 Chinese soldiers transgressed 5 km across LAC last month in Barahoti region, North of the Nanda Devi biosphere reserve in Uttarakhand, and returned after a few hours from the area guarded by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), news agency PTI reported.
