India reported 46,617 new Covid-19 cases and 853 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry, taking the total number of Coronavirus fatalities to over 4 lakhs across the country.
With these numbers, India became the third country to report over 4 lakh Corona virus deaths after the US (6 lakh deaths) and Brazil (5.2 lakh deaths). Apart from these Mexico reported over 2.3 lakh deaths followed by Peru with 1.9 lakh deaths.
In the last 24 hours, India also recorded 59,384 recoveries.
At present, there are 5,09, 637 active cases, and as many as 2.95 crore people have recovered. Total infections in the country have reached 3,04,58,251.
Kerala continues to be the only state reporting more than 10,000 cases a day. On Thursday, the state reported 12,868 cases. Also, Maharashtra accounts for 1.25 lakh of the total deaths, while Karnataka has reported over 35,000. Tamil Nadu has seen more than 32,000 deaths till now.
