India on Saturday administered over 77.25 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine taking the total vaccine coverage to 80 crores across the country.
According the statement issued by the Union health ministry, India has administered 10 crore doses last 11 days with highest being over 2.50 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 71st birthday, which Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya described as a golden chapter in world history.
“In a landmark achievement, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 80 crore landmark milestone (80,33,75,147) today. More than 77.25 lakh (77,25,076) vaccine doses have been administered till 7 pm today,” the statement reads.
Ministry data stated that according to the 7 pm provisional report, 60,03,94,452 first vaccine doses and 20,29,80,695 second vaccine doses have been administered.
